Since

small group travel in Ethiopia. We are not in favour of mass tourism. This
program is adaptable according to your interests. A complete tour of
Ethiopia in 365 degree aspects of its people, wildlife, scenery and culture.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Addis Ababa arrive. Transfer to the Hilton Hotel for overnight
stay. Briefing with Zawdu.
Day 2: Drive from Addis Ababa to Debre Markos for the Blue Nile
Gorge, stopping off to view the Portuguese Bridge, Ethiopian-German Park and
the Waterfalls. Also if desired, there is a visit to the monastery of Debre
Libanos. See panoramic views of the Blue Nile Gorge. Wildlife consists of
gelada baboons and some birds of prey. Stay overnight in Debre Markos at the
Shebele Hotel or best available hotel.
Day 3: Drive from Debre Markos to Bahir Dar. View Lake Tana and the
Blue Nile Falls. Stay overnight at the Tana Hotel or best available hotel.
Day 4: Drive from Bahir Dar to the castle city of Gondar. This was
once the capital of Imperial Ethiopia. Look at the Castle Compound and visit
the baths of King Fasil. Stay overnight at the Goha Hotel or best available
hotel or guest house.
Day 5: Drive from Gondar to the Simien Mountains. Stay overnight at
the Simien Lodge.
Day 6: Simien Mountains Trekking. You will be either camping or you
can do day trips from the Simien Lodge.
Day 7: Simien Mountains Trekking.
Day 8: Drive from Chenek to Axum. Visit the Axumite obelisks and see
the Church of Saint Mary of Zion, where supposedly the Ark of the Covenant
rests. Stay overnight at the Yeha Hotel.
Day 9: Drive from Axum to Mekele. On the way visit some of the
monasteries. Visit the Museum and Castle residence of Emperor Yohannes IV.
See the globe monument to the civil war.
Day 10: Drive from Mekele to Lalibela. Overnight stay at the Lalibela
Roha Hotel.
Day 11: Full day of visiting the churches and the town of Lalibela.
Day 12: Fly from Lalibela to Addis Ababa for transfer to the Hilton
Hotel.
Day 13: Early start for drive from Addis Ababa to the Rift Valley
Lakes region via Butajira to visit the Tiya Stones. Pass via Zway Town en
route for Awasa City. Stay overnight at the South Spring Hotel. Visit the
fish Market and see views across the city ready for sunset.
Day 14: Drive from Awasa to Arba Minch for Lakes Chamo and Abya. Stop
to see the Dorze Weavers and their villages. Boat trip to see the giant
crocodiles, hippotamus. Stay overnight at Paradise Lodge. This is better
than Swaynes Hotel at the present time.
Day 15: Drive to Arba Minch to Konso in the morning. See the Konso
villages and check for any bird life available. Stay overnight at the Green
Hotel.
Day 16: Drive from Konso to Jinka. Visit the Chief of Konso’s
residence. Stay overnight at the Jinka Resort Hotel.
Day 17: Drive from Jinka to Mursi – and Mago National Park. Overnight
again in Jinka at the Jinka Resort Hotel.
Day 18: Drive from Jinka to Turmi to see the Ari and Beni tribes.
Overnight camping.
Day 19: Drive from Omo Rate across the Omo River. We go by boat. We
will visit the Dasenich Tribe. Overnight we camp again in Turmi.
Day 20: We go from Turmi to Murli – Karo. We visit the Koricho
Village.
Day 21: Turmi to Yabelo to visit the Borena People. Overnight the
Yabelo Motel.
Day 22: We drive from Yabelo to the mountainous forest of Wendo Gunet
with their hot water springs, on the way looking at the ancient Neolithic
style stones of Tutu Tela and, or Tutu tuti. We stay overnight at the Wendo
Gunet Hotel.
Day 23: Drive from Wendo Gunet to Bale, staying overnight at the
Wabbe Shebele Bale Goba.
Day 24: Bale trekking begins. You might be lucky to see the Red
Simien Jackal or wolf. We can go for the Sanetti Plateau.
Day 25: Bale trekking.
Day 26: Bale to Langano to Sabana Lodge or Bishangari Eco Resort.
Day 27: Langano Resort. See Ostrich Park and visit lakes Abyata and
Shala to see flamingos.
Day 28: Langano to Addis Ababa via Lake Zway. Overnight at Shearton
Hotel.
